FIRST HYBRID, 5G POWERED CLUB NIGHT

The evening of EDM music, was elevated to an all-new level for fans, with the history defining 5GEE powered virtual performance from Massey (Sprechen) and Neil Diablo, which saw the pros mix their sets B2B simultaneously, between two separate locations, over EE’s 5G network – offering audiences, live and those tuning in through the 5G powered livestream – an all-new experience. Crowds at Hatch enjoyed Gina Breeze’s set, as well as the epic 1.5-hour B2B from Massey (Sprechen) and Neil Diablo through a real-time full 1080p HD video and audio feed at the location.

A host of well-known soap and reality TV favourites, as well as sporting stars, attended EE x Beatport Presents Parallel. The famous faces included BMX Olympian Charlotte Worthington, TV favourites Brooke Vincent, Glen Wallace, James Sutton; former Love Islander’s Jordan Hames, Callum Jones and Molly Smith; and singer Tallia Storm, who was spotted on the dancefloor.

Parallel Manchester was the much-anticipated follow-on from the historic UK’s first hybrid, 5G powered club night, held in Liverpool last Thursday (12th August). The event saw simultaneous DJ sets from two iconic Liverpool venues, live over EE’s award-winning 5G network, with Liverpudlian DJs, Yousef and Melé and Sian Bennet and Lauren Lo Sung, harnessing EE’s 5G network, which provided the low latency and superfast speeds needed to mix sets together in the first-of-its kind performance. Highlights here.

Following the historic 1.5-hour B2B set, powered by EE’s 5G network, DJ Neil Diablo said: “Tonight was mega! It really shows how much audiences, whether they were here with us, or one of the thousands watching live, haven’t missed the energy of live performance. For my mates watching from different parts of the country, the 5G was fast and latency was low, so it was like they were there for every beat of my set. Going b2b with Massey (Sprechen) over 5G was incredible stuff, mixing blind and trusting our instincts, and the tech to pull it through which all worked with a bit of practice. It’s exciting to think of the things we could be doing in the future.”

Pete Jeavons, Marketing Communications Director at EE said: “We’re proud to have shown the potential of what 5G connectivity can unlock, and that’s a whole new world of collaboration and entertainment. We’ve all missed live music, and at these events, whether you were there live on the dancefloor or tuning into the livestream, you could feel the energy between the artists during the hour-and-half set. Together, with the power of our network in the hands of the professionals and Beatport, we’ve made music history. And this is just the beginning – we’re confident this will inspire even more brilliant opportunities for the industry, and especially those who, like us, are always looking to create enviable experiences.”

Ed Hill, VP of Beatport Media Group said: “Our mission is to connect electronic music lovers with the world’s best music via the very latest tools in technology – and with EE’s 5G network we delivered that in spades. Together with some of the hottest names in dance, we offered fans a back-to-back experience that shows what is possible in the live events space.”

To provide the best and safest experience, all attendees at the club nights will be requested to show proof of a negative Lateral Flow Test, reported and demonstrated via the NHS COVID Pass on the NHS app, or a text message or email from NHS Test and Trace.
