Since the iPhone 13 range launched there are hundreds of brands offering you the best protection for your new phone so consumers are spoilt for choice. In this review, we are looking at the Gravastar Ferra Magsafe case designed for the iPhone 13 range and costing £29.95.
Who is Gravastar?
The brand Gravastar has only been around since 2018 and was founded by designer Yong and his team who are clearly all Sci-Fi fans as everything they produce keeps that theme. They mainly designed audio speakers in the shape of the Mars Pro and the recently reviewed Venus model. In addition to the speakers and the phone case, we are reviewing Gravastar also has produced the Sirus & Sirius Pro TWS that we will be reviewing in the coming weeks.
The theme of all of the products Gravastar produce is Sci-Fi and this theme can be seen in the design of the products and the packaging the products come in.
First Impressions
The Gravastar Ferra MagSafe has a sports car design that makes your iPhone case look very cool with a sleek design that is inspired by a sports car.
The case is designed to be MagSafe compatible which is the new charging method Apple devices will be using moving forward. When not using a Magsafe charging the case allows you to use your Qi Compatible charger or even a wired charging connection.
Unboxing
The Ferra phone case comes in a solid display that when opened comes with a sci-fi skitch on the inside of the case.
On the rear of the case it indicates the key features:

- MagSafe Compatible
- QR code to take you directly to the GravaStar website.
Consumers will be pleased to know the packaging is 100% recyclable so this packaging will not end up in a landfill and can be recyclable.
Design
The Gravastar Ferra iPhone case has been designed for the full iPhone 13 range with iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max options.
The case also comes in four colour options:
- Black
- Desert Sand
- Olive Green
- Navy Blue
The case is made from Thermoplastic Polyurethane and also has TPU anti-shock bumpers and 4 thickened TPU corners for air cushion technology that provides great drop protection of up to 6ft/2m.
The case also comes with anti-slip lines on the case to offer some extra grip when holding the case. The design of the case offers maximum protection from both the phone and the raised edges and also protects the screen with a 1m raised edge and the camera with a raised 1.5 edge when dropped. The strong back armour construction provides a case that is scratch and puncture-resistant offering extra protection for your phone.
Last but not least the case has built-in strong magnets that help absorb the charge given by a MagSafe charger like the one we recently reviewed by TwelveSouth Forte. This type of charging is useful as you don’t need to use a cable charger and also allows you to use a MagSafe charger without having to take the case off your phone.
Install
The Ferra Case is easy to install and offers the perfect fitting case. Inside the case, you have a microfiber lining that also provides protection for your phone against scratches caused by friction in the case.
Once your phone is in the case you have 3 cutouts at the base of the case to allow for wired charging and also for the phone’s speakers. You also have a cut out for the camera that is raised so if dropped your camera also has protection.
Verdict
GravaStar has done an excellent job in offering a phone case that not only keeps with the brand’s Sci-Fi style but also provides premium protection at an affordable price. The Gravastar Ferra case protects your phone against scratches from the inside thanks to the microfiber interior cover. The case also protects the case from damage when dropped accidentally thanks to the TPU anti-shock bumpers and TPU air cushions that provide drop protection of up to 6ft.
The case is also MagSafe compatible allowing the user to simply place the phone on the MagSafe charger without the need to remove the case. Perfect for when at home I can place it on my Twelve South MagSafe charger or in the Car using my Mophie Snap+ wireless vent mount.
If your looking for a phone case for your new iPhone and like the Sci-Fi designs in the Venus and Mars Pro speakers this case is a nice addition and will keep your phone safe which is the most important ask when buying a phone case.
