As most people will know, 2020 has been the year of the COVID-19 Pandemic and keeping clean has never been more important. Qdos Sound has created a solution to keep your device clean and charged. Introducing the Qdos UV Sanitiser that is a 2 in 1 sanitiser & Qi wireless charger. 

 

It costs £59.99 from the Qdos website and can clean pretty much anything from your smartphone to your keys and even your wireless earbuds. You could even clean your money if you were concerned about the bacteria that could be on the device. Inside the box, you get the UV Sanitizer with USB-C power cable but no plug and then you are given a single page user guide.

The UV Sanitiser is made from a durable recycled ABS plastic and on the front of the device is the QDOS Logo, Power Symbol which is an indication for where you place the phone for wireless charging. Then you have LED light next to the power button which controls the UV Sanitiser.  

Inside the sanitiser, you have a UV light at each end of the device and then a vent which I feel might pump in some kind of ionisation as when you take the device out after its been cleaned you do get quite a unique smell. You will also notice in the sanitizer you get little pips that keep the phone off the bass I expect this is done so the whole phone can be cleaned and the device is not flat to the surface.

At the back of the device, you have your USB-C power input and also a USB-A output which is likely going to let you charge a device in addition to cleaning your phone.  

 

In regards to the charging, you get a 10w wireless charging option which is perfect to charge your iPhone but you can also charge devices that need a 5W or 7.5W charge. You can place your phone on the device in both portrait or landscape to charge on the device just make sure your phone covers the lighting symbol. If your phone is in portrait orientation charging you will see the LED go red when charging.

 

 

Moving on the UV Sanitiser QDOS state it will remove 99.99% of bacteria but we have to be clear it’s not scientifically proven to remove COVID-19 but by killing 99% of bacteria you are doing your bit. The device will let you sanitise a phone up to 6.7 inches so your new iPhone 12 will be fine going in this cleaning device. 

 

You have two main options for using the UV a 3 minute rapid clean (185nm) and a green LED will appear or 10 minutes intense (254nm) sterilization and a blue LED will appear. This device also comes with a safety feature that if you open the device it will switch off the UV light protecting your eyes.  

 

Would I buy this?

I personally like the idea of this device especially as you can clean your earbuds and charge your phone simultaneously. If you’re looking to go that extra mile and clean your tech devices or even keys of harmful bacteria this is a device you need to consider. In this global pandemic, the Qdos UV Sanitiser is doing its bit to keep you and your family safe.
