When Xtorm sent this unit to review, there was a couple of initial thoughts and observations. Firstly, The weight, it’s a hefty piece of kit (558g) which at first my immediate thought was…unnecessary weight to carry around? More on why I changed my mind once you read on!

Secondly, when you see the product and it screams 130W in your face, I suddenly went into Bruce Almighty mode, you know the one I’ve Got The Power!

Who are Xtorm?

have to admit, before seeing this product, I was unaware of Xtorm. I have not come across their products before, so this puts me in my element as I love being introduced to New brands!

XTORM: EUROPE’S #1 POWER BRAND – Bold claim, taken from their website.

Xtorm’s goal is to energize people anywhere they go through our #MoreEnergy vision and love for mobile technology.

Xtorm is part of the Telco Accessories B.V group where you will find Gecko Covers too (check our website for more reviews across these two brands). Xtorm has been providing power solutions since 2009, so a fair number of years now and a significant amount of experience when it comes to the travel industry.

The Why

XTORM TITAN 130W POWER BANK REVIEW

So, as I said in my intro, the first thing that put me off was the weight of this thing. The thought of adding another ½ Kilo to my laptop bag just to charge my laptop? Are you mad? The answer to that is to never discount “The Why” until you discover the solution it brings to the table.

This thing is a BEAST, but, it’s a beast for a reason! To begin with, the unit packs a 27,200mAh battery, yes that’s right. For context and for those like me who just about gets the fan dabby dosy tech jargon…the iPhone 12 Pro Max has a 3,678mAh battery which should give you “based on usage” around 12-15 hours battery life.

So, this Xtorm powerbank has 27,200mAh, you do the math! Not only that, what this product also has to go with that is added ports, 4 of them! Which means you get to charge your laptop, and other devices all at the same time without the need of have a wall-charging power block and wire to carry around with you…ok, now I am interested!

The Design

Everyone loves a well put together and designed product, are you a form over function type or vice-versa? Tough one for me, I love good looking products, but I absolutely need it to be functional and sometimes I do turn my nose up at the ones that look ugly!

This Xtorm powerbank however, I can safely say, I do like it. Why? because it has a great texture to it, almost Alcantara like to the touch (but its not) what it does do is give that feeling of grip coupled with the weight, it isn’t going anywhere.

The really trick design parts are the integrated USC-C cables you get, oh yes, this for me is a winner. You don’t need to worry about cables, this powerbank has got your back, with 2 very sleek short strips that can be slipped out when needed, and they offer a nice flexible design too. Love it!

XTORM TITAN 130W POWER BANK REVIEW

I love detail when it comes to design. There are a few on this that stand out for me, for example, the nice little tag implemented onto the side. The logo has been nicely embedded onto the facia and the little trick power light which again is subtle but gives you all you need.

These kind of touches are a great sign of a well thought out product, which does enhance the user experience.  Also, on the rear, where you get the confirmed power details and certified marks to show that you have a thoroughly tested product which meets the right standards.

XTORM TITAN 130W POWER BANK REVIEW

This is brilliant, why? Because you don’t have to worry about packing multiple chargers for most of the devices you carry, this one unit has your back. It will charge your laptop, smartphone and tablet all at once if you need it to, and quick too with the PD and QC abilities.

Final Thoughts

XTORM TITAN 130W POWER BANK REVIEW

Mind blown, is what I thought once I had learnt more and put it to the test, the weight of the unit vanished once I knew the capabilities and solution it brought to life. Seriously, if you travel a lot and want to minimise “Clutter” in your backpack or laptop bag, this is a great solution.

It does carry a significant price tag at €149 (£134) but when you think about it, the build, the design and the function do justify it.
