A recent surge in sales for pioneering mobile phone accessories brand, juice®, is proof that consumers are becoming more conscious about sustainable purchasing and do care about the ethical manufacturing of products, including packaging.

Earlier this year, Banbury based juice® became the first UK mobile phone accessories manufacturer to completely remove single-use plastic packaging from its products.

As the brand’s staple product line, the juice® cables were the first to be sold in the new 100% recyclable packaging manufactured from post-consumer waste, and sales increased by a staggering 12.5% as a result.

Consisting of plastics that have already been recycled and can be fully recycled after use once more, juice® is incorporating this unique cyclical manufacturing process to every one of its ranges moving forwards.

To encourage customers to be more ethical in their purchasing, juice® has ensured the new packaging comes at no extra cost and with absolutely no compromise on quality – such is this brands dedication to its shift towards sustainability.

CEO of juice®, Jolyon Bennett, explained: “We have been blown away by the increase in sales since launching the new eco packaging. We have worked hard to get this right for our customers, for the packaging to be recycled and recyclable, to ensure the authenticity of the supply chain, to get the look and feel right – it doesn’t have to come in a brown paper bag to be eco – and we know from past experience that ultimately, customers want to buy an attractive, quality product.

Our extensive range of cables was the first to launch in our new packaging, and the feedback couldn’t be better; the sales figures speak for themselves and we know that our efforts prove that people really do care – this is just the start and we hope to inspire and help other businesses to think in a more sustainable way as a result.

Following its own efforts towards helping create a waste-free world, juice® recently vowed to support UK retailers and brands make more sustainable choices. In July this year, the manufacturer announced it would do all it could to encourage retailers to use juice® sustainable packaging within their own-label ranges. Tesco was the first brand to opt into this new incentive scheme and is now showcasing its newly recycled packaged range of own-label products in stores across the UK.

juice®’s ongoing sustainability drive follows a successful period for the forward-thinking brand, having maintained its market-leading position throughout the global pandemic. This is confirmed by the latest GfK data, which revealed that juice® currently outperforms any other brand in USB type-C and Micro-USB Cables, and outsells Apple in Lightning Cables.
