Now we can say it’s firmly winter time and Christmas is out of the way your children might be looking for something to spend some of that Christmas money that the grandparents gave them. In this review, we are covering the Geomag Glow which will keep them entertained for hours and help them get a basic understanding of physics without costing the world in fact they are very budget-friendly.
First Impressions
The Geomag Glow construction sets are suitable for these 3 to 99 years old so the whole family can have fun and also learn magnetics. You get 3 sets of different-sized glow-in-the-dark natural magnetic rods that are all lightweight in design. I found that building the different shapes shown in the user guide it actually got my imagination going and also helped reduce my stress levels.
The Geomag Glow comes in 3 options 25 pieces, 42 pieces and 60 pieces in this review we got sent the 60-piece option. This set comes with the following:
- 28 glow-in-the-dark magnetic rods
- 28 steel spheres and elements of 4 differently shaped parts
- 3 small storage boxes
The bonus with the Geomag Glow you can buy additional kits to make your creations even bigger. What you will notice is the Geomag Glow 60 is the most complex kit so if you wanted to start with the 25 pieces and build up that could be an option to gain an understanding of basic STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) concepts.
Design
The Geomag Glow is made of 100% recycled materials which will please those trying to reduce their own carbon footprint. The Geomag set is actually solar-powered so to get that glow-in-the-dark feel to leave them out in the sunlight during the day. However, you can play with the geomag glow any time of the day if you so wished.
The magnetic rods come with 100% natural glowing substances that charge up during the day by capturing natural light. So position these in a well-lit spot during the day. The Geomag range of products offers is all finished to a high standard without any sharp edges. The Geomag Glow comes with an easy-to-use user guide which has easy-to-follow instructions to build 5 different models then you can really get creative.
As you can see after each attempt the level of difficulty will increase.
You will notice that once you have built the models they won’t take to much space on your table and when it’s time to dismantle you have 3x storage boxes to keep all the parts safe.
Performance
When you consider the Geomag Glow you will quickly see that it’s not just for kids in fact the whole family can ignite their imagination. When the kids are using the Geomag grow they are actually learning basic skills perfect for the 3 or 4-year-old in the house to also learn about the environment and green sources of power.
The Geomag Glow when used by adults can also be a way of destressing after a hard day. It’s easy to do and you can create a series of different models.
Verdict
The GeoMag Glow is an ideal gift for anyone to get creative and the fact they are made from 100% recyclable materials if you are someone who is keen on sustainable products the geomag glow ticks that box.
We very much enjoyed making a variety of models and I was impressed that if you buy additional geomag products will all be compatible meaning you really can get creative. Cost wise with the 60-piece option costing just £39 and the 25-piece just £19 this is a budget-friendly option to get creative with.
