Litokam provides us with a Wi-Fi Smart Camera that seems to do it all. We take a detailed look at it and let you know if it is worth the relatively cheap £32.99 price tag.

First Impressions

The Litokam Wifi Smart Camera straight out of the box reminded me of the most classic idea of a security camera, with a big lens and circular shape, as if it is one big eye, like Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc.

The camera has multiple different functions, such as night vision mode, the ability to record straight onto your phone or SD card, or simply just if you want to use it as CCTV and watch life go by from the view of a security camera.

The set-up was simple and easy, with a USB power cord being all that was needed, followed by a quick app download and Bluetooth connection then bang, it was all ready to go.

Design

The Litokam Smart Camera is quite cute in design, with a plastic band linking the two speakers on each side, as if the camera is wearing a pair of headphones.

Its build is made predominantly of plastic, which does feel slightly tacky when holding it, although it looks premium enough. The camera itself looks great, with it slapped directly on the front of the “head” part of the camera.

There is a small LED light at the base that flashes when connecting and then stays green when turned on. This system makes life easier when trying to set up the camera, along with knowing when it’s turned on or not.

The choice of having a simple USB power cord as opposed to having to charge it up and risk having the camera run out of battery was handy, although if you want the camera in an awkward position, the lack of wirelessness prohibits that entirely.

Performance

The Litokam Smart Camera delivers 1080P camera quality, making the footage clear enough to see everything. This is great because if for example, you need to identify someone through the camera, the 1080P quality will show it clear as day. The camera displays a great wide-angle range that shows an entire room.

Additionally, the quality is just as good with night vision, making it very handy if you want to use it as a baby monitor or simply need it to be in a dark area. Speaking of using it as a baby monitor, the Litokam Smart Camera picks up audio too, so you can see and hear your child if they ever need assistance.

You can turn the camera side to side manually using the “Littleelf’ app, which again works well for a baby monitor set-up, or even just as a security camera, with the ability to watch your house surroundings being really easy and simple.

The camera has motion detection and a siren system, allowing you to set it off whenever you like. So, if your dog is getting too comfortable on the forbidden chair, you can set off the alarm to get him or her off the chair.

Littleelf App

The “Littleelf” app itself is a really premium and good app. The interface is clean and easy to use and the same goes for connecting the app to the camera, with only the Wi-Fi password being needed.

You can record clips and take snaps on the app that go straight to your phone, which again is a really simple process. In fact, simplicity and easy to use is a great way to sum up the Litokam Smart Camera, so bear that in mind when looking at the Litokam Smart Camera as an option.

The Littleelf app has other features too such as motion tracking that makes the camera follow any movement, audio monitoring that tracks any sound and a siren alarm system that sounds when one of these it set off.

There is also a patrol feature which allows the camera to automatically pan around an area, as opposed to needing manual direction. You can set up different “sites” that you can label, which again adds to the overall theme that gives the app a very easy and consumer-friendly feel.

Conclusion

Overall, for the price tag of £32.99 on Amazon, you get a solid piece of security camera technology in the form of the Litokam Smart Camera. The high-quality camera makes up for the slightly tacky plastic build and combined with the great app, the Litokam Smart Wi-Fi Camera begins to look like great value for money.
