We’re entering a thrilling stretch of the 2023 Call of Duty League season that will conclude on June 18. Four of the five majors have already been played: The Raleigh Major I (played on Dec. 2-18), the Boston Breach Major II (Jan. 13 to Feb. 5), the Optix Texas Major III (Feb. 17 to Mar. 12), and the Major IV (Mar. 31 to Apr. 23).

The 12 esports clubs are in the midst of the Toronto Ultra Major V, which commenced on May 5 and will run through the 28th. The season-ending playoff tournament will then be held from June 15 to 18. Whether you’re supporting Boston Breach, Optic Texas, or any of the other teams you can bet things are going to be heating up as the post-season starts June 15th. Draftkings Massachusetts promo code has you covered throughout the Masters V qualifiers and finals.

The state of Massachusetts launched sports betting in March, allowing its residents to bet on an array of sports. From esports to football to hockey to baseball to basketball to golf, there is no shortage of compelling betting options for residents of “The Bay State.”

With that said, let’s take a look at the current standings in the 2023 Call of Duty League. A note on this article that all player and team statistics are as of Wednesday, May 17.

Atlanta FaZe & OpTic Texas Leading The Way In 2023

Call Of Duty

The FaZe are, unsurprisingly, leading the regular season standings with 325 points.

Atlanta cruised to a league championship in the 2021 season and reached the Grand Finals last year, where they fell 5-2 to the Los Angeles Thieves. The FaZe and OpTic Texas, simply put, are in a class of their own this year.

OpTic Texas is right behind Atlanta in the regular season standings with 310 points. The Toronto Ultra, the 2021 runner-up, are a distant third with 265 points.

OpTic Texas sits atop the Ultra Major V standings (again, as of May 17), with 40 points, with the FaZe (who else?) behind them at 30 points. The “host” Toronto club, Boston Breach, New York Subliners and Florida Mutineers were tied for third with 20 points apiece.

Call of Duty League

The FaZe fell to the Dallas Empire by a score of 5-1 in the 2020 Grand Final — the first-ever COD League season. Will the FaZe become the first franchise to win multiple league championships? They’re certainly the favourites heading into the final stretch.

Boston Breach Looking To Sustain May Momentum

Call of Duty

The Breach are a six-man team made up of young phenom in 23-year-old Ben McMellon (user name “Beans), Joseph Conley (“Owakening”), Zach Denyer (“Zed”), Reece Drost (“Vivid”), Dylan Kock (“Nero”) and Kyle Haworth (“Kremp”).

The Breach got off to a hot start in the month of May by defeating the Minnesota Røkkr by a score of 3-1 on the sixth. Owakening led the way for the Breach with 89 kills, with Beans behind him at 86 kills. Kremp and Vivid had 73 and 71 kills, respectively.

Owakening had the highest streak among all Breach players in that game with six, and Beans finished with a team-leading 37 assists. Boston was able to hold off a hot finish from Benjamin Bance (username “Bance”), who led the Røkkr with 80 kills and a team-high streak of nine.

The Breach followed up the win over Minnesota with a 3-0 shutout victory over the Florida Mutineers six days later on May 12. Beans paced the Breach to victory by recording 61 kills, with Owakening a close second at 54. Kremp had 52 kills, and Vivid had 50. Vivid, Beans and Kremp reach recorded a trio of zone captures, and the latter finished with a game-high seven zone tiers captured.

But Boston’s momentum was halted with a 3-1 loss to the Seattle Surge, who entered this week 10 points ahead of the Breach in the standings.

While each Breach player had 68-plus kills (Beans led the team with 84), they simply couldn’t keep up with Seattle’s depth. The Surge soundly won the Hardpoint match (on the Zarqwa Hydroelectric map) by a score of 250-219.

Seattle narrowly won 6-5 in the El Asilo map in Search & Destroy, but the Breach responded with a 3-1 win in the Breenbergh Hotel in Control. But the Surge responded with a 250-227 win in Hardpoint on the Al Bagra Fortress map.

Up next, the Breach will try to get back on the winning track when they play the FaZe this Saturday. The next day, Boston will meet the New York Subliners.
