In this review, we are covering the majority Tru 1 TWS, a powerful pair of true wireless stereo in-ear earphones compatible with your Bluetooth-compatible device.

First Impressions

The Majority Tru 1 TWS are a budget-friendly alternative to Apple Airpods that cost £29.95. They come in two colours black or white and are a very lightweight pair of buds weighing 4.5g per bud.

The packaging has been kept simple with an image of the front of the box and a list of the key features that include:

  • Bluetooth 5.3
  • Fast charging
  • Powerful Stereo sound
  • Easy Touch Control
  • Crystal clear calls
  • IPX waterproof

Open the packaging and you are provided with the following:

1x Set of Tru 1 Wireless Earbuds + Charging Case

1x USB-C charging cable

2x additional pairs of ear tips -Small & Large with Medium on the buds.

Design

The earbuds come in a charging case with a satin matt finish that is ideal as they will not show up fingerprints like in other materials used. The case has the majority logo printed on the front of the case and LED feedback on the front of the case.

The charging case also has a USB-C charging port on the side to finish the design of the case.

Open the case and inside there is an indication in the case where to put each bud. There is also a magnet in the case and on the buds to keep in place using magnetic contacts. ( Yes they did survive the shake test!)

Moving to the buds they have a similar shape to that of a pair of Apple Airpods. The buds have a combination of matt and gloss finish, The touch strip of buds comes with a matt finish while the main body of the bud has that gloss finish.

The buds have built-in mics that all you to make calls and command your voice assistant positioned at the bottom of the bud with that multi-function button you tap at the top along with a small LED which is useful to indicate when in pairing mode.

Battery wise the Tru 1 TWS comes with a total battery life of 30 hours of playtime with 7.5 hours from a single charge and the case provides you with 3 additional full charges. The charging case also comes with fast charging functionality which in just 30 minutes of charge you get a total of 2 hours of playtime.

The Tru 1 TWS uses touch controls and they allow you to do the following:

  • Next Song
  • Previous Song
  • Volume Increase
  • Volume Decrease

Below is a table with the number of taps in regard to the controls they are:

I found the controls on these buds to be responsive and I have no problem navigating my way around the controls.

Connectivity

The Majority Tru 1 TWS are connected using Bluetooth 5.3 with a range of 10 meters. When you open these for the first time and the buds will automatically go into pairing mode and the LED indicator on the earbuds will flash red & white alternately then go into your phone’s settings click Bluetooth and select Majority Tru 1 and then you will hear a voice feedback to indicate they are connected.

Audio Quality

I have been testing these for the last few weeks listening to a wide range of music and even some podcasts along the way.  Considering they cost under £30 my expectations were not very high but what I found was very rich audio playback paired with plenty of detail, especially in the mids and highs.

The vocals on a wide range of music were crystal clear and paired with the fairly respectful bass frequency it did not feel too punchy it was just right. Majority does not provide you with any way to adjust the EQ so if you’re not happy with the preset that is just too bad.

Moving away from listening to music the buds also allow you to receive calls and have a conversation providing excellent call quality.

Verdict

If you are on a budget and are looking for a pair of affordable but stylish pair of truly wireless earbuds Majority audio provides you with an excellent option. The Tru 1 TWS give you two colours to select from and provide you with comfort for long periods of time paired with rich audio and a decent bass.

For under £30, it’s hard to find fault with these buds so if you want smooth tunes on a budget then Majority is the brand for you.
